Congratulations, Oliver's.

On 12 October 2026, at the QSR Media Conference & Awards in Australia, Oliver’s Real Food was named winner of Best Customer Experience. It’s a category that sits right at the heart of quick service, and it’s an incredible win for the whole Oliver’s team.

The recognition comes a year after Oliver’s won Best Digital Initiative at the QSR Media Awards 2025 that’s two years running at an awards night that celebrates Australia’s leading quick-service and fast-casual brands.

The awards honour work across digital innovation, customer experience, marketing, menu development and more. Coming at a time when the sector is navigating changing consumer behaviour, cost pressures and new ways of using data and technology. Justine Charlton, editor of QSR Media, said this year’s winners “demonstrated how brands are adapting to a changing market through stronger customer experiences, smarter use of technology, investment in people, and disciplined execution.”

Why Customer Experience is the Hardest Award to Win

Anyone in the hospitality industry, will know that customer experience isn’t one thing. It’s the queue at lunchtime, the complicated order that comes out right, the guest who feels genuinely valued and the team member who has time to do deliver beyond expectations. Customer experience is in hundreds of small moments a day, across every site, and it only works when the people and technology work seamlessly together, so standing out for customer experience is highly applaudable.

The Technology Behind the Order

Oliver’s, led by CEO, Natalie Sharpe and COO Tim Sharpe have been proactive early adopters of technology in quick service, and Sodaclick is proud to part of the story. With an integration into Prepit, Oliver’s nutritional transparency database which brings allergen, ingredient and nutritional information seamlessly together across its drive-thrus and self service kiosks. These are two crucial places where a guest’s experience is often decided before the food even arrives, with a simple aim of making ordering easy and accurate nutritional information accessible.

‘Ollie’, Oliver’s Voice AI order taker powered by Sodaclick, brings a charming Aussie personality to the drive-thru. Guests order naturally, ask specific nutritional or dietary questions just as they would with a team member, and get answers in real-time. Inside the restaurant, self-ordering kiosks running Sodaclick Sephona™ platform give guests a calm, clear way to interact with the menu, check what’s in their food, and order at their own pace without feeling rushed.

As Natalie put it in Qantas Travel Insider: “Ollie is always going to be there to assist rather than replace our team members. It relieves the pressure on our teams, so they can focus on preparing high-quality food and giving a really good customer experience at the collection point.”

That access to accurate dietary detail matters particularly to customers with allergies, special food diets, or custom requests, which is very much part of the Oliver’s brand ethos. Natalie explains that with lots of casual team members doing a shift or two a week, keeping every ingredient and allergen front of mind is hard. By utilising Ollie “a single source of truth with accurate, real-time information”, so whether someone asks how much protein is in a burger or whether there’s garlic in a dish, the answer is consistent and reliable every time.

What It Means To Us?

As a technology partner, seeing Oliver’s recognised for customer experience by the people who know the industry best is a proud moment not just for Oliver’s, but for everyone at Sodaclick who has worked alongside its team.

It’s also a reminder of why we do this. Voice AI and kiosks aren’t about replacing the human side of hospitality. They’re about providing a useful tool that can seamlessly enhance the customer journey, solving potential frictions in ordering so that the brand can flourish at what they do best.

Congratulations again to Oliver’s, to our friends at Prepit and Shift8, and to every winner at this year’s QSR Media Awards.
